Guilds can build their own Cities
Guilds can attack other guilds cities
Mounted Combat. Charge on horses^^
There is no sides, every player can fight other player if not in same group.

ah, how could i forgot it. BODY BLOCKING!

game without body blocking can't be called pvp, it's very important

and GW has, that is good pvp game, pve was a comedy and rp possibilities is pathetic, but it was game for which i didn't have to pay monthly, that's why was my first mmrpg, should be rather called mmpvp

in WoW is not, that is good pve game, pvp is a comedy but huge rp possibilities makes that game very attractive, however not so atractive to become my destination world

AoC has body blocking, has pve content, and has rp possibilities, with additional space for society growing, i mean that cities which can be made by guilds, and for now it met my needs.

Why body blocking is so important? Because without it any formation doesn't make any sense. But with body blocking line of plate warriors can be really a wall, and then flank attacks make sense, and then terrain become more important, and then battle can be more real, where winning better organisation, not only quantity of top lvl's.

Mature rating =

1. Fatalities

2. Boobs

On a more serious note, the world of Hyboria is so much more brutal and feels more real than other fantasy universes (especially the one in WoW). It's just something I was waiting for the entire time I was playing MMORPGs.

There might come another games to match these requirements, but AoC is the first.

Not too keen on the fatalities thingy. Love the boobs. Razz

No seriously!

RP possibilities are there but a little restricted imo. All RP needs to be /s - no emos etc

PvE so far seems to be quite linear as in: Start of Q chain -> a -> b -> c -> d -> end of Q chain. Maybe this will be more flexible as I venture out into the wider world after Tortage.

Haven't had any PvP encounters ...yet. Can't comment too much other than I like the idea of the 3 angles of attack and the 3 side blocking. Anyone who can master this obviously has a big advantage in PvP.

After Tortage, you have 3 cities depend from where you are. Khemi for Sygians, Conarch Village for Cymmerians, Tarantia for Aquilonians. They are connected by trade routes smugglers etc. From every city you have a way to higher lvl's areas. Every city has their own problems, so main things are linear, with many other quests. Linear, i mean if Cymmeria is asslauted by Vanir's soldiers, main thing will be fight them back. If Aquilonia is asslauted by Nemedians, main thing will be fight them back. Stygia, hmm.

I'm a huge fan of Howards original stories, and having played AoC a little at Deathweaves, found it to be brutal.

I think the only problem with it is that if you are not in a guild, it is near impossible to level. theres just so much gankage Razz

If it's impossible, then why i have 40lvl after one week of play? In wow i had to play a month. By first time ofc.

But yes, better to have ppl who you can call for help, because everybody there are your enemy, what i rather like. It's brutal world, and i expect combat rather than some chat.

I had my first 2 PvP encounters today. The first was a lvl 12 noob necromancer tried to attack me (lvl 11 Dark Templar) in the instance below Tortage. I raped him baaad. Idiot.

The second was a lvl 17 assassin who attacked me on the White sands island while I was PvEing for 30 crocodile skins. I had 7 skins when she first attacked so had to keep going back. She killed me over and over and over again and kept saying that I should leave her crocs alone. What a pathetic RP excuse for a complete and utter ganking @sshole. Name taken and on the KOS list.

Anyway - liking it so far apart from the ganking. Brutal isn't the word for it!! I can almost taste the blood as it hits the inside of my computer monitor screen when i pull off that fatal Combo just right. hehe

gard.. you play for a month or more, and yet you arent 40 quit bullshit Smile
anyway going to 20lv takes around 1 day.. just whole day.
its posisbly faster to get 20lv then in wow. (well, didnt check 1-60 after 2.3 paytch in wow)
then again, after 20lv you dont have Night Destiny quests, wich act lke boost tbh.and ye, as gard said brutal world (matter of taste, for me it isnt more brutal then GW or WoW) are ruled by force, just moste of players bring it to brainless slaughtering evrything wich dont run at trees... nothing in AoC run at trees Smile

just smal note aboute what gard was allways saying aboute ganking in wow.
in wow there are War and 2 opposing factions etc etc.. not letting ooponent get upperhand etc etc
now excuse is Brutal world Rolling Eyes
but really... lets dont compare wow and AoC both games are diffrent.

oh and Niki... you at least get "excuse" for ganking... thats Unique Very Happy
i seen today situation when one guy get killed by other, 19lv & 21 lvl, soon after he killed me too. anyway irespawned, the other frag guy respawned but he call a buddy...i thought to kill that guy wich killed him and me, but no... they start to Killing some lowbies who was just passing by Very Happy

anyway.. i noticed on Barbarian and Assasin (both Rogue) Abilities like Cunning Strike (?)
Combo to lower threat (hate called in AoC) thats cool and stuff.. just
just.. wen leveling from 1-20 you get it to 6-7 rank, while your Attack atributes stays on 1-2 rank, i dont get why on thouse lower levels you get so many of lowering threat Ranks... since its unusable... c'mon there is like 2 instance wich dont require Tank healer and DPS at all in Tortage.
Guardian have like 3 combo to hold Hate on him, around 1-3 rank till 20lv
i just dont get it... for what ? Very Happy
like lets say that DPS makes Skyhigh Aggro, tank cant hold it, so he use his Threat abilities, so ok DPS is smart enught and use Lowering threat combos. so its hight threat vs lowering threat combos... eventualy whitout DPS abilities mob will die, from heart atack because of this Lowering and lifting Hate scale Very Happy
only reson for that many ranks will be Cooldown of all Combos (rank 1 and rank2 dont share cooldown) but then again... if you need to lower that much aggro asap (wont be that fast to preform 2 combos) where is point in dps?

and best part are.. that Rogue lowering threat Combos are attacks Smile
so ye.. i like threat in AoC, because its good laugh, i just dont get why its so complicated Sad
and why to hell Omen2 not work in AoC! Evil or Very Mad

funny is how many times ppl use words like blood and tits to describie AoC Very Happy

opk me shurup now bounce
